If you’re tired of brainstorming names only to find they’re already taken, try flipping the process: instead of searching for availability, browse domains that are already for sale.
Domain name marketplaces list registered domains that their owners have put up for sale. The big ones are Sedo.com, Afternic.com, and Atom.com — see getdomainbook.com/resources/marketplaces for a complete list.
The obvious downside is that these domains cost more than registering an available name. But the upside is certainty — you know the domain is for sale and you know the asking price. No guessing, no tracking down owners, no awkward cold emails. Most marketplaces let you filter by price, so you can browse within your budget. Many also let you place a bid or use a lease-to-own option if the sticker price is too high. More on that in Buy from a Marketplace.
