Get a great domain name

Closing Thoughts

Remember the feeling from the introduction? You come up with a great name, try to register it, and it’s already taken. Back to the drawing board.

I hope this book has changed how you think about that moment. It’s not a dead end, it’s a starting point. You now know how to brainstorm names that are actually available, how to research and negotiate for domains that aren’t, and how to tell the difference between a name worth fighting for and one worth walking away from.

The techniques in this book are the same ones I use every time I start a new project. They’ve helped me acquire hundreds of domain names over the years, and I’m confident they’ll work for you too.

I hope the book was easier to read than it was for me to write. It took me a few years, a lot of procrastination, and eventually the realization that the only way to finish it was to treat it like any other project: ship the useful version, get feedback, and keep improving it.

Now go get that domain name.
